News and updates of the Visa Angels of Cuenca

A local family really needs your Help

Many of you know Sara Cárcamo from Visa Angels Ecuador.  She has been one of our Angels for over 2 years.  Her family is from El Salvador but they have lived here in Cuenca for over 17 years.  Her mother and father are Ministers at Iglesia Evangelica Hogar Cristiano AD and have spent this entire Pandemic and before helping those who are in need.

Now it is their time to ask for help.  Marta, Sara’s mother has been diagnosed with a serious disease which will requires a Chemo treatment that the IESS is not able to provide.  This is a procedure needed for her to be eligible and enter into the transplant list waiting for a new liver. The only available place where they can do this rare Chemo is in Guayaquil, through private doctors since it needs to be done through an artery. Time is essential in her treatment since the tumor found in her liver grew in 1 month since it was diagnosed.

So we are asking for financial donations to help with the multiple  trips to Guayaquil and  their unexpected medical expenses.  This is a family who has always helped others and now they are in a place they never thought to be.  The members of their church have been helping but they can only give so much so now we are asking for your help.

We are setting up a special bank account so the family can have access to the funds as expenses are incurred.  Thank you in advance for helping this wonderful family in their time of need.

Due to Marta’s weakened state, she should not be climbing stairs.  They currently live on the 3rd floor.  If anyone knows of a first floor 2 bedroom, inexpensive but clean with no mold please let us know.  They hope to find something in the Yanuncay area.  Or one with an elevator.

If you would prefer to donate in person please contact Jodie at visaangels@gmail.com and I can deposit the money for you.
