News and updates of the Visa Angels of Cuenca

We have been busy and we do not have someone to Post frequently

As we approach the end of this 2022, we hope everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving and are looking foward to 2023. We at Visa Angels have been happily helping many, many new residents and are in the process of helping others. There have been some good and bad changes out in Azogues with the Ministerio. We can no longer make an appointment we must instead go out 1 hour prior to their opening and stand in line to be sure we can be seen. For now gone are the days of being #33 and being told sorry come back tomorrow. We also now must make 2 trips to Azogues first one is to file the application and make the application fee and the 2nd one is to submit the visa payment and the order for the cedula. We liked it much better when we could make it all happen in 1 trip.

As the end of the year approaches we are watching for any changes in the laws or for increases in the costs and fees to obtain the visa, make a transfer to the new passport, obtain an extension and any other part of the visa process. We should know if that will happen this year and it will take effect 1 Jan 2023. We will update this space as soon as we have that information.

For the first time in over 7 years Visa Angels Ecuador part of our team is taking the Holiday off. Jodie and Sara will be cruising from Buenos Aires and visiting Uruguay, several cities in Argentina and Chile, including sailing around Cape Horn. Daniela will remain here to review our emails and to respond to those that cannot wait until Sara and I return. She will be available to do all the Visa processes so rest assured you are not being abandoned. We will see all our emails, but since Internet/WiFi is very scarce onboard cruise ships we will not respond normally. Sara and Jodie will be back to work 5 January 2023. Please continue to write to our visaangels@gmail.com email address for any questions or assistance needed. Keep in mind Ecuador loves its Holidays so there will be a limited window into government offices being open.

Recommendation for Visa Angels, passport, visas, cedula facilitator

My wife’s passport and mine were going to expire in a year as were our visas and cedulas. I had heard horror stories of people attempting these renewals by themselves. So, I was dreading it increasingly as the date approached. I had had good luck for years with expats’ advertising, buying, selling and recommendations on GringoPost. A search for “Passport Renewal” in GringoPost yielded a rave review for Visa Angels.

With a quick web search, I found their website and contacted them using their online form. I received a prompt response from a representative named Daniela. I turned the matter(s) over to her, and she went to work. My wife and I are so glad we did. Daniela knew what to do regarding our passport renewals, visas, and cedula renewals. The combined completion time for all three was seven weeks. This time frame can vary though. Even Daniela said that the passport renewals went unusually fast. It all transpired without a snag.

The price for these services was very reasonable. Daniela was experienced, professional and friendly. She provided our transportation to Azogues and accompanied us. Our experience with her and Visa Angels was pleasant and memorable.
