News from Ecuador you all need to know about.

Good morning from Cuenca Ecuador where the sun is shining and it is a beautiful day here. So many people are hearing the confusion and upset of people who have applied using the new Online Platform which is required to be used for all things Visa.

I want to update you on what is actually happening here. Since 15 December every person in the World who wishes to apply for a visa either temporary or permanent must use the Online Platform. In my humble opinion the government of Ecuador had no idea about what that would be like and how many people would be needed to attend to all these applications. We are still submitting applications like everyone else but instead of taking 60 days they are taking sometimes 4 and 5 months. We have one permanent visa application that has been in the system since 18 November and it is still under Supervisor review.

This is not to turn anyone away from coming here to live it is just how things are really happening here in Ecuador. I believe soon there will be some major changes as it must happen or no visas will be issued in this big backlog.
